Sayre Elementary PTO

Good Morning Sayre Families,

Due to the weather, we will be rescheduling our Annual Walkathon for Monday, October 10th.

What is CHEERS?
CHEERS is a volunteer group within the South Lyon School District created to promote volunteerism at all schools in the district in order to improve the quality of education.

For information about C.H.E.E.R.S. go to:

All South Lyon Schools have a security system.
This means doors will be locked throughout the day.
Doors will be open from 7:50 am - 8:15 am for arrival
Doors will open at 3:08 for dismissal

If you come to Sayre during the school day please make sure you have your ID.  You will need to ring the buzzer and show your ID to the camera and be buzzed in by the office staff.

Please bring your ID when you pick up your child at the end of the day as well.

PTO Meeting. Thursday October 20th at 7P.M.

Grades 3rd - 5th

Unfortunately, due to the rain we are having throughout the day and what is expected through the rest of the afternoon/evening, we are cancelling our Curriculum Night tonight for grades 3 -5.  The rain has flooded the Sayre parking lot, causing a significant loss in parking spaces for our families as well as impacting the ability to easily access the building without wading through water.  We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause your family, but hope to see you in two weeks as we are rescheduling this event for Tuesday, October 11th from 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.  We are looking forward to the Bond Improvement work that will occur during the summer of 2017 to renovate our parking lot and rectify the current drainage problems.

We appreciate your understanding and if you have any questions, please feel free to email me at

Jennifer Herbstreit

Boo Bash pre-registration opens today and ends Friday, October 14th.

Don’t miss the $10 per family pre-registration deal,  after October 14th the cost is $20 per family.

The Boo Bash is scheduled for Friday, October 28th, 2016 but in order for it to be a go we need some people to help with the planning phase.

The decorating committee is looking for volunteers to help decorate the school.
If you are interested in helping, please contact Kelly Bell ASAP.

For Packets Forms go to:
 PTO Pages/Forms/BooBashForms/BooBash2016.PDF
All volunteers must have a background check form filled out and turned into South Lyon Community schools in order to be in the schools.  The office will have a list if you are not sure if you have one on file.
